IN FONDEST MEMORY

DORINNE INGRAM (d.1981)

Larry Irvin:

Dorinne Ingram, who joined the Questors as an acting member in 1959, died on Thursday April 16th at Hammersmith Hospital.

Dorinne was for many years an extremely active acting member and played many leading roles before
becoming seriously ill with cancer in 1979. To our great joy she made a remarkable recovery to give her last triumphant performance as Nora in James Sanders' The Girl in Melanie Klien (1980), which was only last year. If you are a more recent active member and did not know Dorinne, your loss is even Greater than ours who did.

We all extend our sympathies to Robin for the loss of his dear Mother whose funeral was at Mortlake crematorium on Friday, April 24th.

James Saunders:

Dorinne had the rare ability to stamp so vividly with her own particular personality any part she played that the performance seemed definitive; one couldn't imagine the part played otherwise. She created two of my characters: Mrs Brute in Who was Hilary Maconochie in 1963 and Nora in The Girl in Melanie Klein last year. For me, both these parts will always be stamped with her image. In her workmanlike attitude to the business of acting and in her love of it she was a true professional and
a true amateur. I shall miss her.
