IN FONDEST MEMORY

MARGARET MERCER (d.2006)

Her many friends will be saddened to hear of the death of Maggie Mercer in August at the comparatively early age of 59. Maggie joined the theatre back in 1972 and her first part was in Alan Chambers' production of The Alchemist (1972)by Ben Jonson.

Maggie's outgoing personality soon made her a favourite with everybody and she was always the centre of a laughing group in The Grapevine club and many legends are still told about her. Among the parts she played was in the 1974 production of She Stoops To Conquer but she was probably best remembered for her offstage personality as the life and soul of the party.

Although marriage and the birth of a daughter restricted her visits, she never lost touch with her many old friends at The Questors and her last visit was to the 75th anniversary in 2004.
