Members will be sad to hear of the death of Win Wright, at ninety one of our oldest and, until recently, most active members.
Wife of Phillip, one of our leading actors for many years, she brought her
considerable skills to many aspects of Front of House at Questors. In the early years
of the Grapevine she worked there alongside her husband, but easily her biggest
contribution was in the Box Office, where she coped splendidly with all the extra
demands our ever-expanding programme placed upon it. (Today the Box Office
handles a total of some 25,000 ticket sales annually).
With failing health in recent years, Win relinquished leadership of the Box Office
team to Ken Parker but, crippled though she was with arthritis, until very recently she
made the journey from her home in Richmond by bus to handle the post twice a week. For her outstanding service to The Questors she was awarded Honorary Life Membership.
Her funeral at Mortlake Crematorium was attended by many of her old friends. We
offer our condolences to her daughter Anne and her grand-daughter. |
