It was with great regret that we learned that David Price died suddenly at the end of November. David as one of those active "non-active" members who contribute so much to The Questors and was indispensable on the play-reading panel.
He was also starting to gain some recognition as a writer, although he did not start until he took early retirement from his job as a lecturer. Having been a passive member for some years (he joined in 1982), David had one of his plays produced as a rehearsed reading at Questors two years ago and it went down very well. He followed this by hiring a slot for his own production of another piece at The Questors' venue in Edinburgh in 1992, where it received excellent notices.
Sadly, David died just as success was beginning to come. BBC Radio were planning to broadcast a play and had appointed a producer. Also, Questors had scheduled a late-night slot for a short piece called Maggie's Mr Right. However, Simon Thomas is going ahead with arrangements for the production; it will form a fitting memorial to David. MIKE GREEN |
