IRIS PHELPS (d.2000)

I am sure you will be as sad as I was to hear from Jo that her dear mother Iris died on Saturday 20 May.

Iris was a Tin Hutter, having joined The Questors in 1958. She was eventually made an Honarary Life Member, one of a select band of 20 people.

She was known by everyone at The Questors as the head of the Property Department for many years, before moving to Ludlow in 1988. Iris worked on at least five shows a year, with tireless dedication and energy, going off to work at a hospital after the rehearsals in the evening! This she did until she was 73 years old! She had a phenomenal knowledge, not only of the props The Questors owned, but where to get them if we didn't. To work with her on a show was a delight and a relief to stage managers and cast, knowing one never had to teach or remind her of anything - she was a real pro!
