IN FOND MEMORY

CLIFF HAMPTON (d.1972)

The Questors have lost a valued member by the sudden death of Cliff Hampton. He joined in 1959 and, together with Margaret, at once became actively involved in the work of the theatre. He became House Manager and Chairman of the Front of House Committee in 1963. It is largely due to him that the arrangements for the opening of the new theatre by the Queen Mother worked so smoothly. He and Margaret willingly undertook many onerous tasks including the Catering arrangements for many special functions.

As a member of the Development Committee his professional advice (he was both a Chartered Surveyor and a Chartered Engineer) was invaluable.

Cliff had a distinguished career in the public service and was an Officer of the Order of the British Empire. He was for some time a member of the Race Relations Board.

Our deepest sympathies go out to Margaret and to his family.
