We have been grieved to learn of the death on 20th January of Harold Elvin, whose annual exhibitions of painted ceramic tiles and dishes have been among the most
popular of art shows at The Questors over the past 12 years and more. In fact, it was
at The Questors in our 1970/71 season that Harold held his first exhibition of his
work in this field. Many members have samples of his unusual and imaginative work in their homes.
He was not only a painter, but also a writer and an intrepid traveller in
many parts of the world. He and his wife, Surya, who has presented a number of
Indian Dance Recitals at The Questors, have been among the keenest of Questors members, quick to praise what is good and saddened by what is not.
We shall miss him but with so many reminders, will not forget.
