It is with deep sadness that I report the death of Questors member, Tom Clifford. After a health crisis at the turn of this year Tom was admitted to hospital. Despite the best care possible from his medical team, Tom did not regain consciousness and passed away on Saturday 27th February 2016.
I got to know Tom when we worked together on the Questors production of She Stoops to Conquer last summer at the Judi Dench Playhouse and later when the show was taken to Minack in Cornwall at the end of June 2015. I found him to be diligent and cheerful throughout both shows. He always impressed me with his work ethic and positive attitude, and he was an important part of the production team that made the shows successful.
Tom was universally well-liked by those of the Questors membership who knew him, from the many shows he worked on. The high regard that people had for him was reflected in the kind tributes paid to him when the news of his passing was first given out on the Questors Backstage Facebook page. The comments were genuine, heartfelt expressions of respect for him mixed with grief at his death far too soon at the age of forty-one.
Tom was a beloved son, brother and uncle whose family are devastated at his loss. They have told me that attending Questors productions was a family pastime, which they all enjoyed very much. They have asked me to thank all of the membership who knew Tom for the kind words and comments on his passing, and for the friendship they extended to him during his time at the Questors. The knowledge that so much goodwill was extended to Tom by his Questors friends has been a comfort to them in this sad time.
Tom's family have told me that he donated considerable sums of money to charity during his life. He gave quietly and this has just come to their attention. Tom also gave freely of his time in working for several charities. They are even more proud of him for these reasons. It confirms to them how special he was.
Requiescat In Pace.
