Longstanding members will remember Cornelia (Corny) Cardew. I'm sorry to have to tell you that she died on Saturday 26th January, having been diagnosed 3 years ago with early onset pre-frontal dementia.
Corny started her Questors life in the Youth Theatre, progressed to the Introductory Group (now known as the Young Studio), and then joined the Student Group 35, playing Mary Warren in the final production of The Crucible. She then became an acting member, giving a memorable performance in the title role in Princess Ivona in 1984. Also a musician, she appeared playing recorder as the Girl in White in our production of The Amazing Dancing Bear.
Her contribution to The Questors then took the form of teaching: she was for many years the tutor to the Introductory Group, and Acting for All. She was an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher.
She was much loved by all who knew her, and will be missed by her husband Neil, her son Arthur and her sister Caroline (costume designer on Princess Ivona and Henry IV Part 1).
The funeral is at 12.45 on Friday 8th February at Croydon Crematorium.
