CHARLES HATTON resigned an office job to become a writer, and after a short spell of journalism began to write radio plays. Since then he has had broadcast over 100plays and several series, in 15 countries. He has written almost every type of radio programme including documentaries, revues, and even a sermon for the Radio Padre during the war. He collaborated with Francis Durbridge on six episodes of the now famous T.V. serial, The World of Tim Fraser. A dozen books, mostly novels, have been published under his own and various pen names, including the widely serialised life of Dixon of Dock Green with Ted Willis. THE PLAY
A simple, straightforward, working-class comedy, the humour of which is largely derived from the speculations by his family and neighbours as to what Ted Morcom keeps in the shed at the bottom of the gardens, and to what he gets up to down there at all hours of the day and night.
